Dissolving Trauma with Taoist Meditation in Bozeman, MT

“Blunt the sharpness, Untangle the Knots, Soften the Glare. Let your wheels move only along old ruts” –Tao Te Ching

Saturday August 7th, 9am-11am at Be the Change Yoga Studio

(438-2 E. Mendenhall St Bozeman, Montana)

Over 3000 years ago Lao Tzu transcribed the Tao Te Ching at the request of his students before he went into solitary retreat. People look to this ancient text today for its wisdom and thematic advice; however, practitioners of Taoist Internal Arts see the Tao Te Ching as a practical instruction book with very specific directions hidden under the veneer of symbolism and metaphor. In this workshop, “The Crack in the Windshield” we will go beyond conceptualization and enjoy the direct experience of connecting with the Tao, following closely to directions from Lao Tzu.

The ancient Taoists knew how to work with the infrastructure of the body, because in order to heal any kind of trauma, the neurological pathways in the brain must become un-scrambled and return to their natural baseline. The way to do this is to work energetically. They practiced methods to find the blockages that prevented a free flow of energy in the body, and to dissolve them, one step at a time. In this workshop we will focus our intention upon finding the energy behind what generates our thoughts, and relax into it, without changing or fixing, or adjusting anything. Through practicing this gentle discernment, we allow our nervous system to naturally re-calibrate.
